The Murayama Crests a group of around four mountain peaks or nunataks up to 2020 m high in the Antarctic Ross Dependency . In the Cook Mountains, they rise 6 km north-northeast of Kanak Peak .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 2001 after the Japanese geochemist Haruta Murayama of Yokohama State University , who was involved in research in the Antarctic dry valleys from 1981 to 1982 .
