Muriqui is a coastal town ( Vila Muriqui ) in the Brazilian state of Rio de Janeiro . It is located at the mouth of the Rio Muriqui in the Baía de Sepetiba and forms the fourth district ( Distrito de Muriqui ) of the municipality of Mangaratiba . North of the village, the BR-101 federal road between Rio de Janeiro and Santos passes the village.

The local church is called Igreja Nossa Senhora das Graças . The Distrito de Vila de Muriqui was founded on December 1, 1949 by territorial spin-off from the Distrito de Itacurussá and has been part of the Mangaratiba municipality since then.
