Muroma ( Russian Muroma [ murʌˈma ]) was a Finno-Ugric tribe that had lived since the 1st millennium BC. Lived in the Oka basin around the city of Murom named after him . The tribe operated agriculture, hunting and handicrafts. In the Middle Ages he paid tribute to the Kievan Rus . In the 14th century it disappears from historical sources, so that it can be assumed that it was assimilated by the Eastern Slavs .
