  • The Muromische was a Finno-Ugric language . It was spoken by the Muroma tribe near the city of Murom in Vladimir Oblast and on the banks of the Oka River in what is now Russia . It probably died out between the 12th and 16th centuries when the people were completely absorbed in Slavic .

Little is known about the language linguistically . It was probably closely related to the Finno-Ugric languages Mokshan and Ersjanisch .
