Murray Sutherland

Murray Sutherland (* 10. April 1953 in Edinburgh , Scotland ) is a former British boxers in the super middleweight and IBF world champion .

Career

Sutherland already lost his first two fights. In 1980 he won the USBA title against the then undefeated American Pablo Paul Ramos (18-0-0) and lost the fight for the WBC title the following year against Matthew Saad Muhammad . On April 11, 1982 he lost in a WBA world championship fight against Michael Spinks in the eighth round by technical knockout.

In March 1984 he competed against Ernie Singletary in a 15-round battle for the vacant IBF world title and won on points. In 1986 he lost to Lindell Holmes by TKo in the third round and then ended his career.
