The collection ranged from ancient religious art from India, Japan and Africa to contemporary erotic art and erotic short films from the silent film era. The house had seven exhibition levels. The first two were devoted to pre-Columbian, Greek, and Asian phallic and fertility symbolism. One floor dealt with prostitution and brothels in the 19th and early 20th centuries. The upper two floors showed changing exhibitions of contemporary artists. The museum contained 2,000 exhibits and had 170,000 - mostly female - visitors annually.
