Museet for Samtidskunst is a museum for contemporary art in Roskilde, Denmark . It was founded in 1991 as the first of its kind in Denmark . The collection is constantly expanding. Purchases are based on works from the past 25 years. In particular, the house is dedicated to sound art , performance , video art and net art .

The museum is located in the Royal Palace (also known as the “Yellow Palace”) in the immediate vicinity of Roskilde Cathedral . The baroque building was built in 1733 by Laurids de Thurah for King Christian VI. built.
