CT Rajagopal

Cadambathur Tiruvenkatacharlu Rajagopal (born September 8, 1903 in Madras , † April 25, 1978 ibid) was an Indian mathematician.

Rajagopal was a student of K. Ananda Rau at the Presidency College in Madras who graduated in 1925. Like his teacher Ananda Rau, he mainly dealt with the analysis of the Hardy school direction (such as summation questions of series, Tauber sentences) and function theory. He taught at Annamalai University , from 1931 at Madras Christian College and from 1951 at the Ramanujan Institute , whose director he became in 1955 as the successor to T. Vijayaraghavan . There he was, among other things, head of the library of the Indian Mathematical Society, which was long at the Ramanujan Institute. In 1969 he retired. Around this time the institute became part of the University of Madras .

In his final years he was also involved in the history of mathematics especially of the Kerala School of Indian mathematicians, such as Madhava (influenced by K. Balagangadharan).
