The Museo Municipal de Bellas Artes "Juan Manuel Blanes" (in German: Municipal Museum of Fine Arts "Juan Manuel Blanes" ) is a museum opened in 1930 in the Uruguayan capital of Montevideo .

The museum, which is named after the famous Uruguayan painter Juan Manuel Blanes , is located in the district ( barrio ) Aires Puros on Avenida Millan 4015 in a building built in 1870, the style of which is reminiscent of the classicist Renaissance villas in Italy.

In addition to the works of the eponymous artist, paintings by other Uruguayan painters such as Pedro Figari , Alvaro Amengual , José Cuneo and Rafael Barradas , as well as by foreign artists such as Courbet and Vlaminick are on display.

The building is surrounded by a large park in which there is a Japanese garden opened in 2001 to mark the 80th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Uruguay and Japan .
