The museum narrow gauge railway Pereslawl ( Russian Переславская железная дорога , . Transkr Pereslawskaja schelesnaja doroga , . Transl Pereslavskaâ železnaâ doroga ) was a 41 km long museum - narrow-gauge railway in Pereslavl-Zalessky in Yaroslavl Oblast in Russia with a track width of 750 millimeters.

history

The line was operated from 1989-2004 in cooperation with the Pereslavl Narrow Gauge Railway Museum . The operating company was founded by a group of enthusiasts who bought the disused railroad tracks. After the completion of large-scale peat extraction, the tracks became unnecessary and should be dismantled.

From 1990 to May 23, 2003, the Pereslavl Railway's passenger trains ran on two routes: Pereslavl - Kupanskoye (Купанское) and Kupanskoye− Kubrinsk (Кубринск). Scheduled passenger transport was in demand among both Pereslavl residents and tourists. Several times a year there were also trips on historical trains with exhibits from the Pereslavl Railway Museum.

The length of the lines opened for passenger traffic in 2001 was 41 kilometers. In some sections, the railway line ran on the shore of Lake Pleshcheyevo . In 2003 the railway was closed due to the decision of the owners. In the years 2004–2005, the route was dismantled over almost its entire length, except for a very short section near the museum.
