Museum Society Ettlingen
The Ettlingen Museum Society e. V. is a registered association in the city of Ettlingen . The society serves as a support association for the promotion and maintenance of the municipal collections in the museum of the castle in Ettlingen . In addition, it promotes cultural endeavors of art and local history. In addition, it is committed to the preservation and promotion of artistic interests (§2 of the statutes).
Foundation of the museum society
The Ettlinger Museumsgesellschaft was founded in May 1975. The first chairman was Wolfram Spitzner.
Art Prize of the Ettlingen Museum Society
Since 2002 the museum society has been offering a prize for regional artists every two years. Initially launched as the "Pamina Art Prize", this regional limitation was abandoned in 2008. Since then, artists from all over Baden, Alsace and Palatinate have been invited to apply. An art prize (€ 2,500) and a promotion prize for young artists (€ 500) are awarded every two years.
The prize money is donated by the Ettlingen municipal utility. Previous winners with year of award:
