Monika Thiele

Monika Thiele (* 1966 in Erfurt ) is a German artist . She develops thread drawings.

biography

Monika Thiele was a student of Eberhard von der Erde at the Academy for Fine Arts in Dresden from 1987 to 1991 . From 1992 to 1994 she studied painting and sculpture at the free art school in Stuttgart with Roland Schauls and Siegfried Müller de Freitas. In 1994 she finished her training with Max Kaminski at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Karlsruhe .

In 2003 she received the prize from the textile museum Die Scheune in Nettetal and the prize from the Kunst & Museum , Hollfeld. In 2006 she received the audience award of the Pamina Prize of the Museum Society Ettlingen eV In 2014 she received the art award of the city of Baden-Baden .

Thiele lives and works in Baden-Baden. With her technique of thread painting, in which she literally weaves figurative images into a material web, she creates images of people, above all.
