Musici Medici
Musici Medici is the name of the chamber orchestra of the Charité -Universitätsmedizin Berlin . It consists of around 35 musicians and emerged in 1985 from a chamber music group of the Biochemical Institute of the Humboldt University in Berlin .
In the first years of its existence, the amateur orchestra consisted almost exclusively of medical students for many years; today, doctors, humanities and natural scientists also play alongside them. Jürgen Bruns is the artistic director . In addition to regular appearances on scientific and academic events, two to three larger concert programs are developed each year. The repertoire consists of works from the baroque to the music of the 20th century, which have been published on several CD productions.
Concert tours led to Hungary, Austria, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Switzerland and Czechoslovakia.
