The Mustafa Nevzat Pharmaceuticals A.Ş. based in Istanbul is a leader in generic drug infusion therapy in Turkey and emerging countries. In the area of intravenously administered generic drugs, MN Pharmaceuticals is one of the leading manufacturers of pharmaceuticals and finished drugs in the Turkish market.
MN Pharmaceuticals has four separate facilities in Bahçelievler \ Yenibosna on the European side of İstanbul .
history
Mustafa Nevzat Pharmaceuticals was founded in 1923 in Beylerbeyi (Üsküdar) , on the Asian side of İstanbul, under the name “Mustafa Nevzat Laboratory” after its founder Professor Mustafa Nevzat Pısak.
Professor Pısak established modern western methods of pharmaceutical production. After moving to Divanyolu and in 1933 to Nuruosmaniye, "Mustafa Nevzat Laboratories" settled in the Mecidiyeköy district in 1957. In 1984 the Yenibosna facility was added and in 2003 the facility moved entirely to Yenibosna.
Takeover attempts by competitors
In 2012 there was an international bidding competition for the Turkish pharmaceutical company. Leading pharmaceutical manufacturers such as GlaxoSmithKline from Great Britain and Eli Lilly and Company , Mylan Laboratories and Pfizer from the USA are said to have kept an eye on the company, according to financial circles. One of the reasons for this is Turkey's strong position in the European pharmaceutical market. The country is the sixth largest market for medicines in Europe, but is not part of the Mutual Recognition Procedure, the mutual recognition procedure for medicines in Europe. Only the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency of the British Ministry of Health issued a certificate for a part of the company in 2008.
