Wilhelm Gadow

Leo Reinhold Wilhelm Gadow (born January 5, 1875 in Trier , † November 28, 1945 in Leipzig ) was a German judge .

Life

Gadow's father was a department head in the Prussian War Ministry . He attended a grammar school in Berlin and then in Hanover . He studied law at the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen and was active in the Corps Suevia Tübingen in 1896 . In the same year he passed the first state examination in Berlin. In 1902, the second state examination followed, also with "good". In 1902 he became a court assessor . In 1905 he was appointed public prosecutor at the Bielefeld Regional Court . He was promoted to district judge at Berlin II district court in 1910. In 1913 he became a member of the public prosecutor's office at the Berlin District Court . In 1920 he became a member of the Judicial Examination Commission. The next year he was seconded to the Ministry of Justice. In 1922 he was appointed Ministerialrat . In 1925 he was deputy authorized representative to the Reichsrat . In 1926 he was appointed to the Reichsgericht. He was in the I. Civil Senate and then in the VI. Civil Senate active. After 1933 he became a member of the Academy for German Law . In 1937 he retired. He was reactivated on October 16, 1939 and worked again at the Reichsgericht until June 1942.
