Mutchkin

Mutchkin was a Scottish measure of volume for liquids, but especially for ale ( beer ), wine and brandy . The measure was based on the Hogschead and was different according to the liquid.

  • 1 Mutchkin = 4 gills ≈ 0.424 liters (ale and wheat beer)

The dimensional chain was

  • 1 Hogschead = 16 Gallons = 64 Quarts = 128 Pints = 256 Chopins = 512 Mutchkins = 2048 Gills
