The myToys.de GmbH , a company of the Otto Group , headquartered in Berlin, operates u. a. an online shop for toys and other products for children. In addition to the myToys online shop, there are also branches of the same name in Germany. A three-person management team will be responsible for the business until June 2020, which included the founders Oliver Lederle and Florian Forstmann as well as Alexander Lederle. From June 2020, MyGroup will be led by Martin Schierer as CEO and Tobias Nieber as CFO. The long-time managing directors of the successful Berlin e-commerce provider, Dr. Oliver Lederle, Florian Forstmann (both also founders) and Alexander Lederle are leaving the company at their own request.

history

The company was founded in August 1999 and went online on October 14, 1999. Until December 2000 the Otto Group held a 74.8 percent stake in the company. In 2015 the Otto Group increased its stake to 94.8 percent. The myToys range includes over 130,000 items. The number of branches is currently 16 (as of April 11, 2017). The warehouse logistics are located in Gernsheim .

In 2010, the company started the women's fashion online shop ambellis. Mirapodo has been part of the myToys Group since March 1, 2013. The offer of the previously independent online shop for shoes of the same name was added to myToys.de. The company was previously assigned to Baur Versand under the umbrella of the Otto Group .

Also in 2013, the online shopping club limango , which has been part of the Otto Group since 2009, became a wholly-owned subsidiary of the myToys Group. Both the company and the limango brand were retained. It is hoped that this restructuring will lead to greater efficiency.

With a sales volume in the online shop of 297 million euros in 2014, myToys is the 12th largest online shop in Germany. MyToys.de GmbH has had its headquarters in the Berlin building Potsdamer Strasse 192 since 2015 and uses 11,000 m² of usable space for around 750 workplaces. At the beginning of 2019, the Mytoys Group merged its online shops Ambellis and Mirapodo.

Products

In addition to toys, the online shop myToys.de also sells baby equipment, children's clothing, sporting goods, children's shoes and maternity clothing. In 2011, an own sports brand was launched under the name laHobba, which includes sports fashion and equipment in two annual collections.

In addition to the core business with children's goods, the myToys Group also operates a women's fashion shop, called ambellis, and the online shoe shop mirapodo. Limango GmbH has been a subsidiary of the myToys Group since 2013. In February 2019, Mytoys Group launched a portal for family travel.
