My Name Is Rachel Corrie is a 2005 play by Alan Rickman and Katharine Viner . It is based on Rachel Corrie's diaries and letters . It deals with Corrie's work in the Gaza Strip and her experiences there. The play premiered at the Royal Court Theater in London under the direction of Rickman in 2005 and won several British theater awards including Theatregoers' Choice Awards for Best Director , Best New Play and Best Solo Performance for actress Megan Dodds . The play has later also been performed at the Playhouse Theater in London, and in a number of theaters in several countries. It is also published in book form.

The German version was broadcast for the first time on April 8, 2008 as a radio play Mein Name ist Rachel Corrie with Birgit Minichmayr in the leading role.
