Win Myint
Win Myint ( Burmese ဝင်း မြင့် ; born November 8, 1951 in Nyaung Chaung Village, Danubyu) is a Myanmar politician of the National League for Democracy .
Life
Myint studied geology and law at the University of Yangon . In 1981 he was admitted to the bar at the Constitutional Court of Burma. After his involvement in 8888 Uprising , he was arrested. He was a member of the House of Representatives for a short time in 1990 and from May 2012 to March 2018 . From 2016 to 2018 he was Chairman of the House of Representatives. He has been President of Myanmar since March 2018, succeeding Htin Kyaw . Myint is married and has one child.
