The Mykineshólmur (often also Mykinesholm ) is one of the eleven Faroese Holms of the Faroe Islands with its 45 hectares . The spar is as westlichster outpost of the archipelago by only a few meters wide Hólmgjógv separated off the island of Mykines . The Hólmgjógv is spanned by the Atlantic Bridge , a pedestrian bridge.
There is a lighthouse near the western tip of Mykinesholm and a large seal colony on the cliff . There are also around 2,500 breeding pairs of the northern gannet , which with its 180 centimeter wingspan is one of the largest bird species in the Faroe Islands.
