The Myrkavatn is a lake in western Iceland .
geography
Myrkavatn is located at an altitude of around 419 m in the northeast of the municipality of Kjós on the border with Bláskógabyggð , southwest of Botnssúlur and the smaller lake Sandvatn . To the south of the Myrkavatn is the mountain Búrfell , to the west of the Kjalarhorn . The Öxará is an outflow from the lake; it flows southeast in the Öxarárdalur named after it .
