The Búrfell í Þingvallasveit is a mountain in the southwest of Iceland .
geography
The Búrfell is located in the northwest of the Þingvellir National Park and reaches a height of 783 m. To the north of the mountain lies the lake Myrkavatn , from which the Öxará flows; it flows north and east of the mountain. A tributary of the Öxará flows south of the Búrfell.
geology
It is a tabular volcano from the Ice Age. It consists mostly of palagonite .

You can hike up the mountain from the Brúsastaðir farm.
