Myrkvar is a Dutch folk metal band with Black Metal influences.

history

Myrkvar was founded in 2003. The demo tape On Broken Wings was released in 2004. It's Myrkvar's old style of black metal . After a few changes of members, the style of the music also changed. The Folk Metal and Viking Metal influences were reinforced, but Black Metal remained the basis of the Myrkvar sound. The violins and keyboards give the music a more folk atmosphere. In 2006 the promotional song I Viking was recorded. This is the band's first release with folk elements. The band later started recording their first album Als een woeste horde , which was released in September 2008. Shortly after the recordings, Eburaz and Hjorulf left the band. Arbudon replaces Eburaz on drums. The band decided not to look for a new guitarist / singer. The guitar parts are played by Uruz, Hrabnilaz, Herubern and Uruz take over the vocals.
