Myx (stylized as myx ) is a Filipino music station owned by ABS-CBN .
history
Myx first aired on November 20, 2000 on ABS-CBN's sister television network, Studio 23 (now S + A). It should be the replacement for MTV Asia . It was broadcast during the day in Studio 23 as a block timer.
On February 14, 2002, ABS-CBN Myx merged on channel 23 with the then first-class music cable channel VID-OK. After the merger, Myx kept its name. However, it was in the VID-OK format (which plays music videos with lyrics). At first, the change mentioned left the viewers of both previous channels cold. However, Myx managed to attract significant audiences compared to the broadcaster's main competitors. Since then, Myx has been the number one music channel in the Philippines.
On January 16, 2014, Myx stopped broadcasting Studio 23. This happened after Studio 23 closed to make way for the new free-to-air sports channel ABS-CBN Sports and Action (S + A).
In November 2015 the network celebrated its 15th anniversary. The month-long celebration began with "Myx Mo! 2015" on the concert area of the SM Mall of Asia on October 31, 2015. On the following day, November 1, 2015, Myx was rebranded with new shows and a new look with a major. Myx also invited past and current VJs to the big Myx Homecoming, which aired as a four-part special. Finally, the network ended the celebration with the broadcast of the Myx 15 documentary on November 20, 2015, the launch day of the Myx Wayback in 2000.
From July 30, 2018 until it was shut down on May 5, 2020 (due to the injunction issued to NTC), Myx was available on channel 12 (DTT) on ABS-CBN TV Plus. It was launched as a free test channel along with O Shopping, Asianovela Channel, Movie Central and Jeepney TV.
Previously there was Myx2, a tested free channel that was later discontinued before TV Plus officially launched in 2015.
On July 11, 2019, Myx launched a secondary YouTube channel called All Music Myx, which offers uploading of Myxclusive performances by artists from the Myx archives.
