The daocheng yading airport ( Chinese also: Daocheng-Yading ; Chinese 稻城亞丁機場 / 稻城亚丁机场 , Pinyin Daocheng Yading Jīchǎng ; IATA : DCY ; ICAO code : for DC is a civilian) commercial airport in the People's Republic of China . It is located 50 kilometers north of the community Sumdü in circles Dabba (Chinese: Daocheng ) of the Autonomous District Garzê of Tibetans in the province of Sichuan .
After around two years of construction, the airport opened on September 16, 2013. With a height of 4411 meters above sea level. d. M. he replaced the Qamdo-Bamda airport as the highest airport in the world. In 2019, however, Nagqu Dagring Airport, which is currently under construction, will take this rank with 4436 m.
The airport operator is the CAAC (Chinese Headquarters for Civil Aviation). The airport is served daily mainly by Tibet Airlines and Air China .
