Søfting

Part of the settlement on Skaland.

The related settlements of Søfting, Skaland and Veset form a larger village in Wefsen , Nordland , Norway . The village is located about five kilometers north of the city of Mosjøen , in a bay and in the immediate vicinity of the Vefsnfjord . The river Fusta flows between Skaland and Veset .

To the south the provincial road No. 78 and the railway line Nordlandsbahn touch the place.

Søfting and Skaland are among the oldest farms in Wefsen and have been documented by written sources since the 14th century. Several antiquities have been found in the village, including from the time of the Great Migration and the Stone Age .
