Tibet Airlines ( Chinese 西藏 航空 ; Tibetan བོད་ ལྗོངས་ མཁའ་ འགྲུལ ། ) is a Chinese airline based in Lhasa in the Tibet Autonomous Region and based at Lhasa-Gonggar Airport .

history

Tibet Airlines was founded in 2010 as a subsidiary of Air China . On July 1, 2011, she took over her first Airbus A319-100 . In the same month she joined PhoenixMiles, Air China's frequent flyer program .

In 2014, Tibet Airlines founded Himalaya Airlines as part of a joint venture with the Nepalese Yeti Airlines , which operates international scheduled flights from Kathmandu .

On June 30, 2016, Tibet Airlines received an Airbus A330-200 with a maximum take-off weight of 242 tons . This means that high-altitude airports can be approached.

Destinations

Tibet Airlines serves destinations within China from Lhasa . In the future, several destinations in Southeast Asia and also in Europe are to be served.
