Yeti Airlines is a Nepalese airline based in Kathmandu and based at Kathmandu Airport .
history
Yeti Airlines was founded in 1998. In 2009 she founded a subsidiary , Tara Air , which will now operate the STOL aircraft .
Since November 2013 Yeti Airlines has been on the list of operating bans for the airspace of the European Union together with all other airlines from Nepal due to safety concerns . Flights to Europe were not offered before.
In 2014 Yeti Airlines founded Himalaya Airlines as part of a joint venture with Tibet Airlines , which operates international scheduled flights from Kathmandu .

As of September 2018, the Yeti Airlines fleet consists of one BAe Jetstream 41 and three ATR 72-500 .
Incidents
- On October 8, 2008, a 19-person de Havilland Canada DHC-6 ( aircraft registration number 9N-AFE ) crashed on Yeti Airlines Flight 103 while approaching Lukla Airport . 18 people were killed, only one of the pilots survived. Among the passengers were twelve German , two Swiss and two Nepalese citizens. The machine had obviously flown too low, hit a fence and immediately caught fire.
