Christa Vogel
Christa Vogel (born June 16, 1943 in Berlin ; † March 21, 2005 in Moscow ) was a German translator of Polish and Russian literature .
After studying Slavic Studies and Theater Studies in Berlin and Cracow , Christa Vogel began translating Polish literature in the late 1960s. In addition to the literary translation, she first worked at the Berlin Schiller Theater as a dramaturge during the last few years of the artistic director of Boleslaw Barlog , and then worked as a television film dramaturge for the Berlin television broadcaster SFB . In the early 1990s she traveled to Omsk in Siberia as a translator for a theater production . Since then, Omsk has become a second home for Christa Vogel. She summarized her experiences in her book Hot Siberia .
