The Nærøydalen ( German : Nærøytal ) is located in the south of Norway in the municipality of Aurland . It is located between Vinjo and Gudvangen . The Nærøydalselvi runs through the valley and flows into the Nærøyfjord at Gudvangen .

The narrow Nærøydalen is surrounded by mountains that rise up to over 1000 meters. There are numerous waterfalls. The Stalheimskleiva has a gradient of up to 21%, is very narrow and climbs 350 meters over a distance of one and a half kilometers. This road through the Stalheim Gorge was part of the old post road (“Königsweg”) between Bergen and Oslo from an early stage . Today this street is the Europastraße 16 . In the foothills of the Jordan Grooves there are mines in which an anorthosite is broken.
