The Nøkkeløya (meaning key island translated from Norwegian ) is a small island off the Prince Harald coast of the East Antarctic Queen Maud Land . It is located off the west side of the Skarvsnes peninsula in the eastern part of the Lützow-Holm Bay and is the southernmost island in the Nøkkelholmane group .
Norwegian cartographers, who also named them, mapped them using aerial photographs of the Lars Christensen expedition in 1936/37 .
