Nüvifone A50 is a smartphone that is mainly manufactured by Garmin and Asus . The Garmin Nüvifone A50, however, is not available in free trade: it is currently sold exclusively by O 2 in Germany .

The Nüvifone is a joint development by Garmin (navigation software and maps), Asus (hardware) and Google ( Android operating system ). Garmin-Asus smartphones are considered to be the best-equipped mobile communication devices for navigation. The successors are the nüvifone M20 and the Asus A10 .

The nüvifone A50 used Google OS Android 1.6 in the delivery condition , an update to Android 2.1 Éclair is available from Garmin Asus. The proprietary Breeze interface ensures that Garmin's navigation applications are interlinked with the other mobile phone functions. The device is supplied with the Garmin map material for 45 European countries. The navigation services of the device are also transferred to other areas: You can use the navigation software to navigate directly to contacts from the address book. Locations as well as geotagged photos and videos can be exchanged via SMS / MMS / e-mail.

Telephony

The device works in several networks. With the "Garmin Voice Studio" you can use your own voice recordings for spoken navigation instructions.
