nCube-2

nCube were two satellites owned by Norwegian students. Due to problems with turning into orbit and a false start, neither of the two satellites could start working. The first (nCube-2) was launched on October 27, 2005 with a Russian Kosmos-3M rocket ( COSPAR designation 2005-043H), the second (nCube-1) was launched on July 26, 2006 when a Dnepr rocket failed to launch lost. Both were built according to the Cubesat standard for small satellites and had the shape of a cube with an edge length of 10 centimeters.

The main aim of the nCube project was to promote students and universities in the field of space technology . For this purpose, the satellites were supposed to receive AIS signals from ships and reindeer and transmit them to earth via amateur radio . The satellites were also equipped with digipeaters for radio amateurs .
