history

The bank was founded in Essen in 1962 by Hans Gallinat. Initially the bank was active as Gallinat & Co. KG, a bank for goods and customer loans in the installment business. Since 1971 it has operated as a full bank under the name Gallinat-Bank KG. In 1998 the limited partnership was converted into a stock corporation.

In April 2014, the Dutch NIBC Bank NV, Frankfurt am Main branch, took over Gallinat-Bank AG, Essen, and then renamed the bank to NIBC Bank Deutschland AG.
