NRW Undergraduate Science Award

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The NRW Undergraduate Science Award is an award for students who publish a scientific paper in a renowned journal or at a renowned conference while they are still studying.

In October 2001, seven international graduate schools were founded as part of an initiative by the federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW) . To promote student research before graduation, each of these graduate schools in North Rhine-Westphalia awards an annual prize of 1500 euros for an outstanding publication on the respective research focus of the graduate school. The seven different prizes (one for each graduate school) are awarded in a festive setting in the state capital of Düsseldorf.

Award criteria

The award winners are selected based on a scientific publication in a specialist journal or at a conference in the research focus of the respective graduate school. Each of the graduate schools selects its own award winner, who must still be a student at the time of publication. A self-application is possible and desirable.
