Nabil Ayouch
Nabil Ayouch (born April 1, 1969 in Paris ) is a French - Moroccan director .
biography
Ayouch's mother is French of Tunisian-Jewish origin, his father is a Muslim Moroccan. His brother is the director Hicham Ayouch .
After taking various theater and directing courses, Ayouch worked as an assistant director, realized commercials and finally shot the first award-winning short films, including Les Pierres bleues du désert with Jamel Debbouze . In 1997 he directed his first feature film, Mektoub , which became a box office hit in Morocco and was supposed to represent the country at the 1998 Academy Awards. His second feature film from 2000 - Ali Zaoua, Prince of the Street - has also received several awards and was chosen as a representative of Morocco for the Academy Awards.
In 2012 his film Les Chevaux de Dieu (The Horses of God) was screened at the Cannes Film Festival in the Un Certain Regard series and received an award there.
In 2017 he was accepted into the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), which awards the Oscars every year.
