Message cuboid

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The message cube is an illustration in communications technology . The X-axis is usually bandwidth , the Y-axis the (necessary) signal-to-noise ratio (or the channel dynamics) and the Z-axis the transmission time. The volume of the cuboid corresponds to the amount of data. The message cuboid may not be as large as the available transmission channel, otherwise there will be losses.

With the help of the message cuboid, various modulation and multiplex methods can be represented.
