A farmer lives with his two sons Omkar and Chandan in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh . He becomes ill and is treated by a man from another village. When his health improves, he wants to settle his debt. But instead of payment, he wants the oldest son as a son-in-law. The farmer accepts the condition and Omkar marries Roopa and they start a happy life.
Roopa will soon have a baby, while her sister Gunja has secretly fallen in love with Chandan. Soon Roopa gets wind of it and wants them to get married. Suddenly she dies in an accident and nobody knows about Gunja's and Chandan's love. Her parents decide to marry Omkar so she can take care of Roopa's baby.
All's well that ends well: Omkar happens to find out about a secret conversation between the two of them and brings them together again. Gunja and Chandan marry without encountering any resistance.
