Nagsel

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The drilling dust produced by wood-destroying insects is called nagsel . It consists of balls of feces and uneaten wood flour. Depending on the insect, the nail can either remain in the feeding tunnels or be ejected.

Typical wood-destroying insects include the house billy beetle , various drill beetles (e.g. brown sapwood beetle or embossed sapwood beetle ) and rodent beetles (e.g. common rodent beetle or combed rodent beetle ).
