Najwyższa Izba Kontroli (German: Supreme Control Chamber , Supreme Audit Office ) is the highest body of state control in Poland . It works on the principle of collegiality and is subject to the Sejm .
tasks
The Supreme Chamber of Control checks the activities of the organs of government administration, the National Bank of Poland , state legal entities and other state organizational units from the point of view of legality, economic efficiency, expediency and honesty (Art. 203 of the Polish Constitution ).
The Supreme Control Chamber can also review the activities of other organizational units and economic operators from the point of view of legality and economic efficiency, insofar as they use the state's or municipalities' funds and assets or fulfill financial obligations in favor of the state.
The President of the Supreme Control Chamber is appointed by the Sejm for six years with the approval of the Senate . He can only be reappointed once.
