Nakayama (clan)

The Nakayama ( Japanese 中山 氏 , Nakayama-shi ) were a family of the Japanese sword nobility ( Buke ), which was derived from Emperor Senka via the Tajihi no Mahito . With an income of 25,000 Koku , the Nakayama residing in Takahagi ( Ibaraki Prefecture ) belonged to the smaller Fudai daimyo of the Edo period from 1868 onwards .

The Nakamura were vassals of the Hōjō of Odawara.

  • Nobuyoshi ( 信 吉 ; 1576–1642), Bizen no kami and appointed house elder ( karō ) of the Mito-Tokugawa ( 水 戸 藩 附 家 老 , Mito-han tsukegarō ) and was a teacher of Tokugawa Yorifusas in Mito in 1608 . He and his descendants resided in Matsuoka ( Hitachi ) from 1622 with 25,000 Koku.
  • Nobutoshi ( 信 敏 ; 1679–1711) moved to nearby Ōta , where the former Satake castle was. He and his descendants resided there on the Ōta-goten ( 大田 御 殿 ) until 1803, after which the Nakayama moved back to Matsuoka. The Ōta-goten was lost due to fire.

Was last boss of the house under the Tokugawa

  • Nobuaki ( 信 徴 ; 1846-1917). He was finally raised to a daimyo in 1868. Baron after 1868 .
