Nami Nabekura

Nami Nabekura ( Japanese 鍋 倉 那 美 , Nabekura, Nami ; born April 11, 1997 ) is a Japanese judoka who won the Asian Games in 2018.

Athletic career

Nami Nabekura fights in the light middleweight division, the weight class up to 63 kilograms. In 2014 she was second in the Junior World Championships, in 2015 she won the title. In 2017 she won the Asian Championships in Hong Kong. At the Grand Slam tournament in Tokyo 2017 she reached the final and then lost to her compatriot Miku Tashiro . In 2018 she won the Asian Games in Jakarta with a final victory over Kiyomi Watanabe from the Philippines . At the Grand Slam tournament in Osaka in 2018, Nabekura took second place behind her compatriot Masako Doi . In 2019 she took third place at the Grand Slam tournaments in Paris and Osaka. At the Japanese Championships in 2019 she finished second after a final defeat against Miku Tashiro.
