The Namsan (South Mountain) is a 265 meter high mountain in the middle of Seoul in South Korea .
The entire mountain forms the approximately 3 square kilometers large Namsan Park , a popular destination in Seoul. On its summit, which can be reached on foot or by cable car , stands the N Seoul Tower , another 236 meter high television tower. The bonghwadae was also located here , one of the fires that were distributed across the country and used to report dangers and invasions to the court in Seoul. At the foot of the mountain are the National Theater, the Goethe Institute , the Namsan Library and a botanical garden.
