St. Nantwein Church

Nantwein is a district of the city of Wolfratshausen in the Upper Bavarian district of Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen . It is located roughly in the middle between the train station and Marienbrücke ^ in the Weidach district .

The parish village of Nantwein was named after the popular saint and pious pilgrim Nantovinus . The church of St. Nantwein stands today at the traditional site of his execution. In 1976 and 1977 the church was renovated. Remnants of bones were found under the altar. These are assigned to the martyr.

Nantwein borders the Pupplinger Au nature reserve in the east .

The largest employer in Nantwein and in the whole of Wolfratshausen is EagleBurgmann Germany GmbH & Co.KG with more than 1,000 employees. The company, which was founded in Dresden in 1884 and settled here in 1951, is now part of the Freudenberg Group .
