Nanzhuangtou ( Chinese  南莊 頭 遗址 , Pinyin Nánzhuāngtóu yízhǐ ) is an archaeological site named after the village of Nanzhuangtou, excavated in 1997 in the Chinese province of Hebei in Xushui County . It comes from the early Neolithic and is dated to around 10500-9700 before today. It provides important information about animal domestication , as this did not take place at that time, as well as about early pottery .

The Nanzhuangtou site has been on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China (5-3) since 2001 .
