The Napier rock is a cliff rocks in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It is 2.8 km east-southeast of Point Thomas in Admiralty Bay on King George Island .
The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named him in 1960 for Ronald G. Napier (1925-1956) from the Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey (FIDS), who worked in 1955 at the FIDS station on Signy Island , then in 1955 the station in Admiralty Bay until he drowned on March 24, 1956 in the dark when his dinghy capsized in Admiralty Bay.
