Narinder Dhami

Narinder Dhami (born November 15, 1958 in Wolverhampton ) is a British children's and youth author. Her best-known work is the school reading Bend it like Beckham , which is based on the film of the same name .

Live and act

Narinder Dhami is the daughter of an Indian who emigrated to England in 1954 and an Englishwoman. She studied English at the University of Birmingham and worked as a teacher for several years until she devoted herself entirely to freelance writing and writing for various magazines. After that, she began to focus on writing books for children and young people. She is married and lives in Cambridgeshire .

Narinder Dhami has so far (2012) published her works exclusively in English and under her own name. Using the pseudonym Daisy Meadows , she writes stories for the popular UK children's book series Rainbow Magic .
