Narita Rikon
Narita Rikon ( Japanese 成 田 離婚 , eng. "Narita divorce"), named after the Japanese airport Narita , is a phenomenon of Japanese society .
In Japan , marriages are often concluded between people who hardly know each other beforehand, be it because the man or both go to work and have little free time, be it because the marriage was arranged through a grandmother or the company boss or department head. It is also not common in Japan to move in together before marriage.
The honeymoon is therefore the first time for some couples that they “sit on each other” for days on end. It is not uncommon for this to reveal insurmountable differences - the result is a divorce, which (at least symbolically) takes place when you return to the airport.
In 1997 on the Japanese television station Fuji TV a drama entitled Narita Rikon broadcast. It's about a couple who got married too early and are now struggling with all sorts of problems on their honeymoon.
