history

In 1969 the Narrenring was founded with the aim of "preserving the customs of the old and the young and supporting each other in these matters".

Linked to the idea of supporting each other in the maintenance of customs, there was also an agreement that the fools of the individual guilds would meet regularly. From the founding year to 1976, the ring jesters guilds met annually, after which it was agreed to hold the ring jesters meeting every two years. If a ring guild had to celebrate a special anniversary, this rule was deviated from.

The presidency in the ring of fools was always held by this guild master, whose guild of fools was the organizer of the next meeting of fools. The duties of the ring president increased over the years and represented an additional burden on the guild master who was already busy with the organization of the next fools' meeting. The Narrenring did justice to this fact when Reinhard Heim from Epfendorf was elected permanent ring president in 1986. He holds this office until 2014.

In 1981 the fool's ring had the six fool's marches of its member guilds recorded on record. In 1993 they were re-recorded and released on CD.

The members of the Upper Neckar Narrenring also meet for social events such as excursions and squatting. The round birthdays of the jester ring were celebrated particularly extensively.

On March 26, 1999, Fritz Lehmann from Aistaig was appointed the first honorary member.

At the ring meetings of the Upper Neckar Narrenring, the traditional evening is the focus in addition to the parade. Here the fools' guilds present carnival customs in their places.

Ring President Reinhard Heim came up with the idea of a ring flag in order to be able to hand over a joint guest present to the organizer of the meeting. This flag was painted by Karl Schmied from Bochingen and tailored by Johanna Kopf. All six ring guilds received this fool's flag from the president at their ring meeting. In 2002 every member guild was already equipped with a ring flag. The idea of the ring flag was stuck to and so the newly designed fool's flag of the fool's ring was presented in the same year. In contrast to the old fool's flag, in which the municipal coats of arms were in the foreground, the six typical fool figures of the ring guilds are painted on the new ring flag. The focus is always on the type of fool of the guild that holds the ring meeting.

During the ring meeting in 2014, Reinhard Heim handed over his position as ring president to his successor Achim Seepold from Hochmössingen. Achim Seepold named his predecessor President of the Ring of Honor and long-time secretary Jörg Juchler an honorary member.
