Filmed as an anime

The best known of these short stories is probably that of the cyclist Pepe Bemengili, who takes part in a Spanish bicycle race. In 2003, this story also served as a template for the 45-minute anime cinema film Nasu: Andalusia no Natsu ( 茄子 ア ン ダ ル シ ア の 夏 , Nasu: Andarushia no Natsu , German "Aubergines: Andalusian Summer"). The film was the first anime to be shown at the Cannes Film Festival . The film was released on September 17, 2008 in German as Nasu - Summer in Andalusia as a version limited to 999 copies.

In 2007 the sequel Nasu: Suitcase no Wataridori ( 茄子 ス ー ツ ケ ー ス の 渡 り 鳥 , Nasu: Sūtsukēsu no Wataridori , German "Auberginen: Suitcase-Migratory Bird") appeared as OVA .
